The "Tao Te Ching" is one of the oldest books in existence.
Legends say that Lao Tzu ("The Old Master") wrote this ancient Chinese book of wisdom around 500 B.C.
Lao Tzu saw that the society he lived in had taken a turn for the worst. Politics was spinning out of control. Governments were fighting with each other for dominance. But even more damaging, the politicians and so-called "leaders" were pitting common people against each other.
Unfortunately, most citizens didn't understand what was happening to them. Pushed to the edge, they lashed out, but at the wrong time, in wrong ways, for the wrong causes, and at the wrong people.
And that's why Lao Tzu wrote his book.
Lao Tzu's manual was an answer to those times - which are not all that different from what we see in the world today.
The book was designed to bring hope when times seem overwhelming. It's meant to be a catalyst for change amidst the chaos.
The book was written for "leaders." But ultimately, the book suggests that you don't need to be a leader of others to lead.
You just need to lead your life and rule your world, not the lives of others. Doing so will make both your personal experiences and the world around you a better place.
The title of the Tao Te Ching roughly translates to "A Book About the Way of Life and the Power It Gives You."
The book blends left-brained ideas and right-brained intuitive techniques to show you how to find your place in the Tao and to protect yourself in troubled times.
The message of the book is simple:
You are part of something bigger, but most people aren't aware of this big picture and how to live a life in tune with it.
Consequently, they frequently encounter stress, anxiety, worry, frustration, annoyance, anger, rage, fear, disgust, sadness, loneliness, and unhappiness. But more often, they encounter a vague feeling of dissatisfaction and being "out of sorts" with life around them.
Any place in your life where you are less than satisfied is a place where you are "out of harmony" with this big picture.
So it's time to remove those blinders that keep you from seeing the big picture.
It all starts with just realizing that there is a bigger plan to life. You just need to find your path through it.
This book has been translated and commented on by dozens, maybe hundreds, of translators, authors, and teachers.
But all the translations and commentaries in the world can't help you understand the Tao Te Ching unless you feel what the original authors felt when they were writing it.
And that's the purpose of my latest mindfulness course, entitiled Personal Power Through the Tao"
Hi, my name is Al Simon. I'm a Mindfulness Specialist, Zen Sherpa, Chaos Energy Explorer, Chi Master, author, and teacher. I've been involved in meditation, mindfulness, and chi life energy for over forty years.
I began studying Taoism, Zen, and Zen meditation in 1982, and began Tai Chi in 1984.
In addition to these Eastern paths, I also spent the better part of a decade exploring Western esoteric, motivational, and mindfulness approaches.
Along the way, I've become a Tai Chi and Qigong Master recognized by the Headfounders Grandmasters Council and the International Martial Arts Council of America. I've also been inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame three times, including as a Master and as a Founder, for my innovations to Tai Chi and Qigong.
I've has also been featured on both "Living Energy Secrets" and on "Secrets of Qigong Masters". My articles have been in numerous magazines, including Natural Health Newsletter, The Empty Vessel, and Qi Journal.
Finally, and more to the point here, I'm the author of six books on mindfulness, including Float Like Clouds, Flow Like Water, the three volume Three Monk Mindfulness series, Start From Zero, and Psychic Mindfulness.
I've also taught courses on Chaos Energy Mindfulness and Western esoteric mysticism.
My latest mindfulness course, entitled Personal Power Through the Tao focused exclusively on the wisdom found in the Tao Te Ching.
This course, like the book it is based on, will be about developing personal power through the Tao. It will focus on developing an "applied Tao" approach to living during these modern, stressful times.
We're going to enter into the ancient author's worldview, get inside those feelings, and experience the right brain activity he wanted you to experience in order to connect with the Tao.
Along the way, you'll discover how to:
Fortunately, you won't have to make any "conscious" changes to get all of this to happen. You also will NOT need willpower, determination, or discipline. You won't need your Conscious Self to make these changes.
Instead, you just need to give your Intuitive Self permission to run free as you experience the Tao in your life.
To that end, our focus in this course is on:
Our goal is to guide you to develop the tools of personal power: awareness, intention, intuition, noninterference, influence, and "means without ends."
That's the path to finding your place in the Tao and attaining the the Taoist ideal of the "evolved individual."
This course will contain twenty-two (22) sessions that cover living in harmony with the Tao.
Each session will include an audio plus written transcript. The sessions will be ten to twenty minutes long - so they will be easy to listen to or read in a short amount of time.
These sessions will be released two or three at a time over the next few months.
Here is the complete list of topics covered in these sessions:
As a bonus for this course, you'll receive a special "download edition" of my new book, "The Power of the Way."
This is a brand new translation of the Tao Te Ching.
This translation is based on John H. McDonald's public domain version. But I've gone through and done extensive re-translations of the original Chinese in many places.
But more than just a new translation, I've also re-organized the book according to six major themes:
In the original Tao Te Ching, the chapters for each of these themes appear randomly throughout the book.
I've re-arranged the chapters so that all the chapters on one theme are grouped together. The related chapters can be read one right after the other, giving a better "logical flow" to the book.
I call this new version of the Tao Te Ching "The Power of the Way." It combines the new "McDonald/Simon" translation plus along with the new organization by theme.
This version of the Tao Te Ching is the translation we use in sections of this course. But as a bonus, you'll also have access to a "download edition" of the full version when you sign up for the full Personal Power Through the Tao course.
The Tao Te Ching is uncannily relevant to the times we live in now. And I think it holds a lot of "paths" to the answers we need in this day and age. To me, it's more relevant now than at any time in my past sixty-plus years of life.
So I'm really looking forward to going through these lessons from the Tao Te Ching with you, and making this ancient book relevant to YOUR life in the chaotic times we live in.
So I'm going to make this course affordable, because I want as many people to have access to this course as possible.
To start with, there will be no ongoing subscription and no monthly fees for this course.
In the past, I've done this type of training only as part of a monthly program, such as my old Mindful Masters group, the Mindful Masters Academy, or the Qi Masters training we were doing the last few years. So to get training like this, you would have to commit to an open-ended subscription and to paying a monthly fee to receive the training.
And that can get quite expensive.
But I think this material is so important, and I want to reach as many people as possible. So rather than do this as a monthly program, I've decided to present this material as a stand-alone course.
So instead of joining a monthly, on-going program, you can make just one small payment and get access to all of this training.
And on top of that, because this is a standalone course, I've decided to give you a significant discount.
Normally, for a twenty-two session course, I would charge somewhere between $300 to $500.
I think that's a fair value for developing the life-transforming "personal power" and peace of mind you'll get from this "applied Tao" approach to living.
But as you may know, I like to reward people who take action, and especially people who jump in first whenever I offer a new program like this one.
So I'm offering this course for just
$300 SALE $147.
That's NOT $147 a month, as you might usually expect from our programs. It's just $147, and that includes all twenty-two sessions, plus the bonus "Power of the Way" downloadable book.
So NOW's the time to get started.
Get access to all upcoming sessions (22 in all) as they become available. Plus when you sign up TODAY, you'll get the "The Power of the Way" book download as a bonus.
Wishing you the best for your mindful development,
Mindfulness Leader, Chaos Energy Explorer,
Zen Sherpa, Chi Master, Teacher, Author
